Platform Navigation

Learn how to navigate the Qarion platform efficiently using the sidebar, global search, and keyboard shortcuts.

The left sidebar is your primary navigation tool, providing quick access to all major platform modules. The Dashboard offers a space overview with recent activity and metrics. You can browse and manage data products in the Data Catalog, visualize dependencies in Lineage, and monitor check executions in Quality. The Alerts module helps you monitor notifications, while Issues lets you track and resolve data quality tickets. Manage data contracts and SLAs in Contracts, coordinate governance in Meetings, and access your preferences in Settings. The AI Copilot is also available from the interface, letting you ask natural-language questions to find data products and generate documentation without navigating manually.

Space Selector​

At the top of the sidebar, you'll find the Space Selector showing your current workspace. Click to switch between accessible spaces.

Global Search (⌘K)​

The global search overlay provides instant access to any resource across the platform.

You can open search by pressing ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux), or by clicking the search icon in the header.

Search Capabilities​

Global search finds resources across multiple entity types, including Data Products (by name, description, or slug), Issues (by title or description), Meetings, Users (by name or email), Source Systems, and Quality Checks.

Using Search Results​

Search results are grouped by type with distinctive icons. As you type your query, results appear instantly. You can use the arrow keys to navigate between results, press Enter to navigate to the selected item, or press Escape to close the overlay.

Quick Navigation

Use global search as your fastest way to jump between different parts of the platform. It's especially useful when you know the name of what you're looking for.

Header Navigation​

The top header provides contextual navigation and user controls.

Breadcrumbs show your current location in the platform hierarchy, for example: Data Catalog > Customer Orders > Schema. Click any breadcrumb segment to navigate back to that level.

User Menu​

Click your avatar in the top-right corner to access your Profile, Settings (for preferences and account security), API Keys, or to Sign Out.

Keyboard Shortcuts​

Qarion supports keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Use ⌘K / Ctrl+K to open global search, Escape to close modals and overlays, and ⌘+Enter to submit forms in modals.

When working with modals and dialogs, you can press Escape to close without saving, or ⌘+Enter (Mac) / Ctrl+Enter (Windows) to confirm and submit. Clicking outside the modal on the backdrop will also close it.

Deep Linking​

Every page and tab in Qarion has a unique URL that you can bookmark or share.

Many detail pages use URL hash-based navigation for tabs. For example, appending #schema, #quality, or #lineage to a product URL will open that specific tab directly.

To share a specific view, navigate to the desired page and tab, copy the URL from your browser's address bar, and share it with colleagues who have access to that space. When they open the link, they'll land exactly where you were.

Activity and Notifications​

Activity Center​

Access the Activity Center from the sidebar to see recent changes to products in your space, quality check executions, issue updates, and meeting schedule changes.

Staying Informed​

You can subscribe to data products to receive updates about changes, watch specific issues to track their resolution, and check the Alerts Center regularly for quality notifications.
